NDIA Michigan Chapter Sponsors Heritage Junior High School Science Olympiad Team
Heritage Junior High School's successful Science Olympiad team just got a $2,500 boost.
The National Defense Industrial Association-Michigan Chapter recently donated to the school's Science Olympiad team to offset costs related to the competition, which tests students' math and engineering abilities against their state and national peers.
The donation is part of the association's commitment to support programs that support science, technology, engineering and mathematics education.

Robofest is entering its 12th year of robotics and science competitions for middle and high schools, and recently received a $5000 Gold Sponsorship from the Michigan Chapter of NDIA as part of the Chapter’s 2010-2011 STEM program.
The primary goal of Robofest is to spark young students' interest in Science, Engineering, Technology, and Mathematics (STEM). At the 2010, 11th Annual Robofest, a total of 1,443 students participated, with 441 teams representing four countries, (Canada, China, Korea, and the USA. Robofest 2010 featured a warm-up competition, 25 qualifying competitions, a video qualifier, a video regional, a regional championship, the World Championship, two afterglow events (IGVC and Maker Faire Detroit), and an associate event (RoboParade).
